I've always had an interest in art, and wished that I had a natural talent for drawing like some people seem to.
But it wasn't until 2001 that I decided to put pencil to paper and seriously try to develop some artistic skills. I quickly learned that I am not a natural at drawing. But over time and with lots of practice, things gradually started to improve.
After dabbling in watercolours for a bit, I discovered pastels, and then things really started happening! I found that everything seemed to come easily and naturally using pastels. Please see my Pastel page for examples of my pastel paintings.
If you look at my pastel paintings you will notice that the contrast between light and shade plays a big part in my landscapes. I recently decided to take this to the extreme, and started doing pure black and white drawings using pen and ink. You can see examples of these on my Drawings page.
See the Exhibitions page for a list of exhibitions featuring my paintings.
