I've embarked on an Art and Creativity course at The Learning Connexion. I was fortunate enough to have my work assessed and to be admitted direct to the honours diploma course. This will be two years of part time study, which I am undertaking via distance delivery.
It's very much self directed, which will require a lot of self motivation and dedication. But its something I very much want to do, so I can't imagine that being a problem.

So far I've watched the 13 DVDs that come with the course and started reading the printed material, including a text book of over 500 pages.
Unfortunately this means I haven't had time to do much painting over the last week or so. I have a painting that is 3/4 done which I hope to finish off in the next couple of days. After that it will be into the major projects for the study course.
The first project will be a drawing/painting exercise based on "The Watcher", using the stick figure and "tribal" design theme to create a series of works. Each picture will have a story associated with it. I haven't decided whether it will be one story through the whole series, or each individual work will have its own story.
The second project will be a self portrait, as this is something I have made some attempts at in the past, but with limited success.
A third area I want to explore is story boarding for movies. I will start by working backwards, taking scenes from movies and turning them into sketch drawings.
